This blog is logging the progress of the Healthy Communities Collaborative (HCC) in Stoke-on-Trent. The aim of the initiative is to promote earlier presentation of cancer symptoms, to facilitate earlier diagnosis and treatment of breast and lung cancer.

The programme is running in 3 wards in Stoke-on-Trent – Burslem South, Longton South and Norton and Bradeley. The Healthy Communities Collaborative uses a collaborative approach which recognises that local people are key to understanding how communities work. It brings together local people with professionals to work in close partnership to achieve the stated goals. This blog allows everyone involved in the project to keep up to date with the initiative.
