This blog is logging the progress of the Cancer Awareness Team in Stoke-on-Trent. The aim of the team is to promote earlier presentation of cancer symptoms, to facilitate earlier diagnosis and treatment of breast, lung, bowel and prostate cancer.
The Cancer Awareness Team uses a collaborative approach which recognises that local people are key to understanding how communities work.
The programme brings together local people with professionals to work in close partnership to promote the importance of getting diagnosed early with the signs of cancer.
This blog allows everyone involved in the project to keep up to date with the progress.
We are always after new volunteers to join the programme or local groups or events which the team can attend to promote cancer awareness. We are a free service and will pretty much go anywhere and do anything in Stoke on Trent (within reason!) if it helps to get across the early signs and symptoms of cancer to people living in Stoke-on-Trent.
